Pastoral Care

Caring for One Another, Through Every Season of Life

At the heart of Jewish community is the responsibility to care for one another. Whether we are celebrating life’s blessings, facing illness or uncertainty, mourning a loss, or navigating a difficult transition, we draw strength from knowing that we do not walk these paths alone.

Our clergy are here to offer compassionate, confidential support rooted in Jewish tradition and values. Through conversation, prayer, spiritual guidance, and simply being present, we strive to provide comfort and connection when they are needed most.

A Community of Care

The mitzvot of bikur cholim – visiting and caring for those who are ill – and nichum aveilim – comforting those who mourn – remind us of our sacred responsibility to be present for one another.

Our clergy and congregation are here to support members experiencing:

  • Illness, hospitalization, and recovery
  • Grief, bereavement, and mourning
  • End-of-life concerns and Jewish rituals
  • Family and relationship challenges
  • Major life changes and transitions
  • Spiritual questions or times of uncertainty
  • The need for additional professional or community resources

Whether through a hospital or home visit, a conversation with clergy, assistance navigating Jewish traditions surrounding illness and mourning, or the caring presence of fellow congregants, our goal is to ensure that every member of our community feels supported.

Please Reach Out

In times of joy and in times of sorrow, we are a kehillah kedoshah – a sacred community – and we are here for one another. If you or someone you know in our congregation is ill, hospitalized, grieving, or going through a difficult time, please contact our office and let us know. We cannot always know when someone needs support, and we welcome you to reach out on your own behalf or to make us aware of another member who may appreciate hearing from us.
